Finnish baritone Kristian Lindroos was born in 1990 in Helsinki. He has studied in the vocal department of Sibelius Academy, Helsinki. Kristian has also studied privately with M° Sherman Lowe in Venice. Kristian has completed the ’Accademia del bel canto ”Rodolfo Celletti”’ -summer program in Martina Franca, Italy. Kristian comes from a family of singers: his father is Petri Lindroos, bass, and his grandfather the famous tenor Peter Lindroos.
Kristian Lindroos made his debut in the Opera di Firenze as Young Henrik in Marco Tutinos’ opera Le Braci. Kristian has also performed in the Savonlinna opera festival and the Festival della valle d’Itria -opera festival in Martina Franca. Kristians performed opera roles include Belcore’ from ’L’elisir d’amore’, ’Schaunard’ from ’La Bohéme’, ’Falke’ from ’Die Fledermaus’ and ’Mercurio’ from ’Incoronazione di Poppea’.
He will debut as Figaro in Le nozze di Figaro in Joensuu January 2019.
Kristian has performed as a soloist for the Finnish orchestras: Radio symphony orchestra(Beethoven 9th symphony, January 2018), Helsinki city orchestra, Tampere philharmonics, Sinfonia Lahti and the Vaasa symphony orchestra.
Kristian has performed on many prestigious stages in Finland with lied-, opera and oratorio repertoire.
Kristian Lindroos won the first price in the Lappeenranta singing competition 2016. He has also won a special prize in the ’Toti dal Monte’ -international singing competition, Treviso, Italy 2015.
